Catnip, Nepeta cataria, a perennial and member of the mint family, has a distinctive fragrance that's intensely attractive to most cats. The small white flowers are attractive to both honey bees and native bees. Drought tolerant and deer resistant.
This hardy herb grows easily from seed and can reseed aggressively, so you may want to cut off flower seed heads before they drop. Excellent container plant. Reaches about 36 inches high with about a 24" spread; grows in zones 3-9. Full sun to part shade.
